Attention Shoppers: Protesters Planning 'Die In' Event at KOP
"Demonstrations are not permitted on mall property," the King of Prussia Mall says.

A group of protesters are planning to hold a “die in” event at the King of Prussia mall this weekend, the final shopping weekend before Christmas.
A blog compiling information about protest events being held in the wake of the grand jury decision in Ferguson, Mo., says the protest is being planned for 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at the mall’s food court.
A Facebook group created for the protest says: “We will not be silenced. Join us the Saturday before Christmas, as we shut down the largest mall on the East Coast.”

“We respect anyone’s right to assemble on public property however, you’re right that our shopping center is private property,” a representative from King of Prussia Mall wrote on its Facebook page. “Our first concern is always to maintain a welcoming and safe environment for tenants and guests. Should a demonstration occur, keeping that environment would be our first goal. However, our ongoing policy has been that demonstrations are not permitted on mall property.”
As of Thursday morning, some 170 people have RSVP’d on the event’s Facebook page, saying that they will attend the protest.
