Balligomingo Road Closed on Saturday

Getting to the Schuylkill from Norristown will be a little trickier tomorrow.

If you've been using Balligomingo Road as a shortcut around the closed bridge on Route 23 in West Conshohocken, you may need to plot another route tomorrow.

According to a release issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), Balligomingo Road will be closed and detoured between Route 23 (Front Street) and Jones Road in West Conshohocken and Upper Merion, on Saturday, Aug. 20, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for utility construction by PECO Energy.

During the one-day operation to relocate a natural gas main, Balligomingo Road traffic will be detoured over Route 23 (Front Street), Matsonford Road, Old Gulph Road, South Gulph Road and Trinity Road.

The work is associated with PennDOT’s $4.8 million project to relocate and improve the intersection of Route 23 and Balligomingo Road.

PennDOT reminds drivers they can log on to 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions on major highways before heading out.
