Bobst Now on the Job as West Norriton's New Manager

According to The Times Herald, former Pottstown Borough Manager Jason Bobst, who was hired in May as West Norriton's new township manager, has started his new position early. Bobst reportedly took meetings on Monday with Acting Township Manager Joe Hein, other township employees and members of the business community.

Bobst told the Herald he plans to tackle , sewer lines, and finding a new Chief of Police. Current West Norriton Police Chief Robert Adams plans to retire at the end of the year.

"The biggest thing is the sewer plant and the sewer system we have," Bobst told the Herald. "With the [connection] cap we have to not issue any more sewer connections until we reduce our I and I [infiltration and inflow]," Bobst said. "You have to have development or redevelopment to build or stabilize the tax base."

West Norriton's Board of Commissioners approved Bobst's two-year, $100,000-per-year contract at its May 22 meeting. The commissioners also approved a car lease for Bobst. He reportedly Pottstown the required 90-day notice of his leaving, but the borough appointed an interim manager and let Bobst go early.
