Child Porn Guilty Plea Sends Montco Man To Jail

CHELTENHAM, PA — A local man is heading to prison after he pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography, according to court records and media reports.
Nabil Nisar, 26, of Cheltenham, Pa., was given a sentence recently of 11-and-one-half to 23 months behind bars after he pleaded guilty to two felony counts of child pornography.
Court records show Nisar entered guilty pleas on Oct. 18 before Montgomery County Common Pleas Court Judge Wendy Rothstein.

In addition to the jail sentence, Rothstein also gave Nisar seven years' probation, according to the criminal docket sheet in the case.
According to an article in the Mercury, Montgomery County investigators began looking into Nisar after receiving a CyberTip initiated by a complaint from social media app Kik that said a user had uploaded files that appeared to be child pornography.

The story says that Kik identified a total of 18 videos depicting children engaged in prohibited sexual acts, some of whom were as young as infants.
The Kik account was ultimately traced to Nisar, according to the article.
A forensic review of the defendant's cellphone reportedly found a total of 200 images of children engaged in sexual acts or poses.
Other criminal charges were dismissed in exchange for the guilty pleas on the two felony counts, according to court records in the case.
Rothstein, the judge, also ordered Nisar to register for 15 years as a sex offender under Megan's Law.
He was also ordered to undergo a Sexually Violent Predator Assessment and Psychosexual Assessment.
Nisar will not be allowed to use electronic devices unless supervised.
