1. Halloween is just around the corner and that means it's haunted house time! Starting tonight, the Elks Lodge at 494 Ford Street in Bridgeport is transformed into a frighteningly affordable House of Horror. Each room in the dark and dank basement offers a different scary surprise for your senses – step up to the Zombie Bar, go for a spin in the 360 Room of Terror, feast your eyes on the Demonic Checkerboard Room, wash the blood from your hands in the Dexter Room, navigate the Black Maze will know and walk the halls of Death Row. The frightening fun starts at 7pm.

2. Today is the 55th annual ! Join local celebrities, business leaders, college students and volunteers of all ages for a tradition benefiting Variety – The Children’s Charity and the thousands of children with disabilities in the region. It all starts with a pep rally at the at 11am. Following the rally, volunteers will sell The Happiness Edition newspaper on street corners throughout town for a suggested donation of one dollar. All proceeds will benefit Variety.

3. Saturday is Star Wars Day at the ! Join the members of the 501 Garrison Carida as they descend on the library for movies, games and fun from 1 to 3pm. Cameras and costumes welcome!

4. Join the on Saturday for their inaugural . The 2-mile fun run/walk to benefit the arts in Norristown will be held at , with on-site registration opening at 8 am. Race starts at 9 am, rain or shine! Find more info on the ACPPA's website.

5. If you won't be running for art, why not join Habitat for Humanity for the at Habitat's ReStore at 533 Foundry Road in East Norriton? Their remodeling demonstrations will provide new ideas for home improvement projects and children’s crafts will guarantee fun for everyone. Electronics and paper shredding will be provided by GigaBiter and you will even have a chance to win one of 30 raffle prizes. Food will be available and music will be provided by the Upper Dublin School District.
