Five Things for Monday, Sept. 19
Here are five things to know about Norristown and life today.

1. Norritown's Bicentennial Celebration Golf Outing is today at in West Norriton. The event is raising money for next year's Bicentennial events. Slots are $75 a person or $300 for a foursome, but registration is at 7 a.m. for an 8 a.m. tee time. Get in gear and get over there to sign up. 2. is looking for crafters, restaurants and other vendors for its Fall Fest Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. In addition to the craft show and yard sale, and vendor tables, there will be face painting and games for the kids. A contemporary Christian band will play at noon in the sanctuary, and a fire truck will be there from noon to 2 pm. For more information or to sign up for table, email lizparker9959@gmail.com.
3. is looking for patients with periodontal (gum) disease to be treated by dental students over the fall semester. Patients will be screened for eligibility today by appointment and those who qualify can begin treatment (assessment of oral and periodontal health, dental X-rays if necessary, education in self-care, scaling and root planing, tooth polishing and fluoride treatment) next week. Multiple three-hour appointments are necessary. Anyone interested should contact the clinic today at 215-641-6483.

4. National Singles Week was started by the Buckeye Singles Council in Ohio in the 1980s to celebrate single life. The week is now widely observed in the third week of September (this week) as “Unmarried and Single Americans Week."
