1. It's flu season, and free flu shots are available at the Norristown Health Center at the at 1430 DeKalb St. Call 610-278-5145 to make an appointment.
2. If you're planning on getting the flu shot, why not kill three birds with one stone? Stop by the for the Health Department's free shot clinic. The Influenza ("flu shot" and nasal spray)/Pneumococcal/Tdap (tetanus, diptheria, pertussis) clinic will be held from 10am to 1pm. If available, bring your immunization record. Medicare participants should bring their Medicare card. No pre-registration is required, but vaccine availability is limited. First-come, first-served.
3. While we're being healthy, is offering free blood pressure checks by a Bayada nurse from 10:30 to 11:30am. Stop by and make sure you're ticker's in tip top shape.

5. It's the late, great Peter Boyle's birthday. The beloved actor (known for his roles as the monster in Young Frankenstein and Ray Romano's father Frank Barone on Everybody Loves Raymond) was born and raised in Norristown. Boyle would have been 78 today had he not passed on Dec. 12, 2006. Let's all remember him for the joy he brought audiences everywhere.
