Iron Age Theatre's production of Amiri Baraka's The Slave opens tonight on the main stage of the Adrienne in Philadelphia, but you can have a chance to see it closer to home when it takes the stage at the on Oct. 8 and 9 at 8pm. The Slave tells the story of a broken interracial family that tries to comes to terms with their relationship as a racial revolution is happening in the streets all around them. The play if a metaphor for our national struggles with race, extremism and love.

4. The Norristown State Hospital's Annual Art Festival kicks off today from 9am to 2:30pm in Building 33.
5. is hosting free Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Completion Workshops today at noon and 1 p.m. at the Norristown Resource Center at One Montgomery Plaza. Space is limited, and interested students should pre-register at www.mc3.edu/admissions/paying. Attendees should bring the following materials:
