Five Things to Know for Thursday, Sept. 15
Here are five things to know about Norristown and life today.

2. There's still time to get tickets for the fourth annual this Saturday evening at . You can come support one of Norristown's greatest treasures and enjoy great food, craft beers and plenty of German music and dancing. Tickets are $45 in advance and $50 at the gate. Tickets for designated drivers are only $25.
3. The Roosevelt Stadium Celebration Committee is meeting again tonight at 6 p.m. at to plan the stadium's final farewell Sept. 30. There are plenty of opportunities to support the effort as sponsor or a donor. All contributions made by Oct. 31 will be matched dollar for dollar up to $25,000 by a generous local donor. 4. Montgomery Home Care holds free blood pressure screenings every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at their office at 25 W. Fornance St. You don't need an appointment, just stop in and get yourself checked out. Call 610-272-1080 for more information.
5. Election season is in full swing and one of the more hotly contested races is the Montgomery County Commissioners' contest. The GOP Castor-Brown campaign and they'll be raising money tonight at a $200-a-person fundraiser at the law firm of Cozen O'Conner in West Conshohocken from 5:30 to 7 p.m. On a related note, the Democratic team of commissioner candidates, Shapiro-Richards, will be laying out their fiscal plans for the county today at the courthouse.
