Four DUIs, But No Jail for Norristown Man
Each reportedly counted as a first offense, because all occurred before he was sentenced on the first offense.

A Norristown man has pleaded guilty to four counts of driving under the influence, but was sentenced to no jail time.
Nicholas Chaban, 54, on Friday was sentenced to time served and two years of probation, The Philadelphia Inquirer said. That’s because all four offenses occurred before he was sentenced on the first offence, the Inquirer said, and under a previous state law, each one had to be considered a first offense.
The law was changed as of Dec. 31, 2014, the Inquirer said.
