Giant's 'Peapod' Bringing Internet Groceries to Norristown Residents

According to a release issue by online grocer Peapod, the "Peapod by GIANT" service to is now available to Philadelphia, Delaware and Southern Montgomery counties. The online service offers grocery delivery to residents and businesses in our area.

The first deliveries were available Friday, Sept. 30 and area residents are now able to shop for fruits and vegetables, seafood, meat and dairy, as well as national brands and private labels, at the click of a mouse.

Peapod also offers PeapodMobile, a free app available for iPhone/iPad, Android, and Palm Pre users with some features exclusively available to mobile users.

“GIANT Food Stores is very happy to be offering delivery service as another shopping option to our customers in Philadelphia.” said Rick Herring, President of GIANT Food Stores in the release. “Just like GIANT, Peapod will provide a wide selection of well-priced, top quality and fresh products but with the ease of Internet shopping and delivery.”

Peapod offers shoppers the ability to create personal shopping lists, read nutrition information, sort products by price or by nutrition criteria, and take advantage of personalized online coupons. Like GIANT, Peapod will offer its customers Gas Extra Rewards and A+ School Rewards points.

Once an order is placed, groceries can be delivered as soon as the next day. Delivery arrangements can also be made to fit your schedule, even when you are away. A minimum order of $60 is required for home delivery.
