As our area prepares for foul weather courtesy of Hurricane Irene, Norristown Patch will keep you up to date on developing storm news.

By now, everyone is aware of the impending extreme weather expected for our area thanks to . Gov. Tom Corbett declared a state of emergency for Pennsylvania and local and national news outlets have been covering the impending onslaught of rain and wind.

While I'm actually on an ill-timed vacation in coastal Delaware, my fellow Patchers will be keeping everyone updated on the latest Irene-related news with our .
