King of Prussia Man Arrested in Hit-and-Run in Norristown

Police say Enrique Rodriguez hit a pedestrian at Elm and Markley streets on Tuesday and fled the scene.

According to a report from the , a King of Prussia man was taken into custody on Tuesday after he allegedly struck a pedestrian in the area of Elm and Markley streets and feld the scene without calling for help.

Enrique Rodriguez, 27, is facing charges for violating several motor vehicle laws including accident involving death or personal injury, accident involving death or personal injury while not properly licensed, duty to give information and render aid and driver required to be licensed.

Officers were dispatched to Elm and Markley streets for a report of a struck pedestrian on Tuesday at approximately 4:44 p.m. and were advised that the suspect vehicle – a white Ford Ranger pick-up truck – had fled the scene.

On the scene, officers made contact with a witness who was on the phone with the suspect, identified as Rodriguez, at the time and advised police he was at the 7-Eleven at West Main Street and Egypt Road in West Norriton. Norristown police met with West Norriton Police on the scene and took Rodriguez into custody.

Rodriguez reportedly told police that he had just been in an accident and that "the guy was standing in the street."
