More Info on Area Flood Warnings

The National Weather Service has extended the flood warnings to Thursday and notes specific areas to watch out for.

The National Weather Service is extending the Area Flood Warning issued for Montgomery County until Thursday morning or until further notice.

Officials are warning residents of Norristown close to the Schuylkill River to be especially alert. Water levels had reached 12.8 feet by 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. Flood stage is reached at 13 feet. Levels are expected to crest at 14 feet by early this morning. The river is expected to fall back down below flood stage levels by Thursday morning.

If water levels reach the 15 foot mark, officials warn of the following areas being specifically affected:

  • River Road in West Conshohocken may begin to flood.
  • The lower garages at Riverview Landing, 1400 South Trooper Road in Eagleville, and the Lofts at Valley Forge, 1876 Minutemen Lane in Norristown, may take on water.
  • The lower section of Port Indian Road in West Norriton may become impassable.
