New Mural 'A Bright New Background' for Norristown's Future
Politicians, community leaders, artists and supporters gathered on Wednesday to celebrate Norristown's newest mural.
A crowd of supporters gathered in Lafayette Street Wednesday morning to hear local politicians, communtiy leaders and artists dedicate the new mural at the foot of the Norristown Arts Hill.
In addition to speeches from state Sen. Daylin Leach, Norristown Arts Council President Rich Rogers, Norristown Councilman Bill Caldwell and Philadelphia Mural Arts Program founder Jane Golden, artist Matthew Bush (who created the mural) and spoken word artist Mydera "SpeakMeFree" Robinson also spoke on the importance of the arts.
Robinson even read an original poem she wrote for the occasion titled "Color Us a Community. [See the video posted to YouTube by Iron Age Theatre.]
