New Screening Process Announced for County Courthouse
Starting April 6, everyone entering the building we be screened by sheriff officers

A new screening process will be instituted at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Norristown, the Sheriff’s Office announced on Thursday.
Everyone entering the building, including judges and county staff members, will be required to go through a screening process that is currently reserved for the general public. The new measures will be begin on Monday, April 6.
The Montgomery County Sherriff’s Office warned the public on its Facebook page that the new measures, “may cause delays,” and “plan accordingly.”

Additional sheriff’s deputies and security equipment will be added to help complete the transition. Also, the Main Street entrance will now serve as access to the courthouse, 24-hours, seven days a week.
The department says, the process will be in place indefinitely. In August, the Airy Street entrance will be considered the “Jurors Only” entrance.
