No Fire at DeKalb and Jacoby Streets

Firefighters were dispatched to the scene for a report of an electrical odor.

Traffic in the area DeKalb and Jacoby streets was tied up briefly this afternoon as the Norristown Fire Department responded to 901 DeKalb Street at noon on Friday for a call of a burning electrical odor reported by occupants of the building, a long-term residential treatment facility for woman and children.

The Department of Public Safety live incident feed coded the call as a building fire, but after firefighters searched the building, no fire could be located according to Norristown Fire Chief Thomas O'Donnell.

The scene was declared safe and firefighters departed just after 1 p.m.
