Norristown PD and County Detectives Canvas Area For Information in Last Night's Shooting
Norristown police and the Montgomery County District Attorney's office are launching a full-scale investigation into the shooting that killed one person and injured two others.

Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman and Police Chief Russell J. Bono issued a release this afternoon announcing that a murder investigation has been launched stemming from the shooting that occurred on the 500 block of Haws Alley early this morning.
On Monday, July 11, 2011, at 3:17 AM, the responded to the area of Chain Street and Haws Alley after hearing multiple gunshots. Upon arrival, responding officers found that three people had suffered gunshot wounds.

According to the release, a male victim, age 24, was pronounced dead at the scene. A female victim, age 29, and another male victim, age 23, were both taken to area hospitals for treatment. All three victims are residents of Norristown. Their identities are being withheld pending notification of relatives.
Earlier today, an autopsy was performed on the deceased victim by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office. The cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds; the manner of death was homicide.

According to , witnesses on the scene claimed the shooting might be gang related.
