Norristown Woman Held for Knife Attack
A 31-year-old woman was arrested on Sunday for attacking her girlfriend's son with a knife.

Officers from the responded to a report of a stabbing shortly after 4pm on Sunday and arrested a 31-year-old woman for attacking her girlfriend's son with a knife.
The 21-year-old victim returned to his home on the 1100 block of Green Street on Sunday and was met by his mother's girlfriend who began to yell at him for not cleaning his room. The victim left the room to avoid arguing with the woman, but returned when he heard the woman yelling at his sister.
According to police reports, the victim saw the woman go to a kitchen drawer, remove a large kitchen knife and approach his sister with it. The victim reportedly attempted to break up the fight by standing between the woman and his sister, but this angered the woman and she reportedly began swinging the knife at his face. The victim put his hands up to defend himself and was cut in several places. According to the reports, several victims witnessed the attack, including the victim's mother, sister, his two children and a friend. The friend drove the victim to for treatment.

When officers arrived on the scene, witnesses described the events and identified the suspect, who had retreated inside the residence. On entry, officers reported observing blood on the kitchen floor and an open drawer full of kitchen knives. They identified a large knife with blood on it on lying on the dinning room table. The knife was believed to be the weapon used in the attack and was placed it into evidence.
Officers reportedly found the suspect lying on the floor in a locked upstairs bedroom, hiding from police. The woman was taken in custody and transported to the station to await arraignment on charges of simple and aggravated assault.

According to reports, while in the holding cell, officers observed the suspect tying what appeared to be her shirt around her neck. Officers were able to convince the suspect to hand over her shirt, but returned shortly to find that she had tied her bra around her neck and secured it to the cell door. The suspect was reportedly facing away from the cell door and leaning forward to apply "a lot of pressure" on the bra. Police were able to remove the bra and transported the suspect to Montgomery County Emergency Service in Building 50 at the Norristown State Hospital.
