PennDOT Closes Some Area Roads For Flooding

Flooding and storm damage have forced some area state roads to be closed.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) advises drivers that some state roads may be closed or restricted in our area because of flooding and/or downed trees and power lines.

The following are the road closures as of Wednesday evening in PennDOT Engineering District 6, which includes Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties:

Montgomery County

  • Park Avenue between Pawlings and Audubon roads in Lower Providence Township is closed due to flooding and pavement damage.

Delaware County

  • Creek Road between Bridgewater and Dutton Mill roads in Brookhaven and Middletown due to downed utility wires.

Bucks County

  • Route 32 between Cafferty and Dark Hollow roads in Tinicum and Bridgeton is closed due to downed utility wires.
  • Route 32 between Lodi Hill and Bridgeton Hill roads in Tinicum and Bridgeton is closed due to flooding.
  • Route 32 between Trenton Avenue and Taylorsville Road in Lower and Upper Makefield and Morrisville Borough is closed due to flooding.
  • Route 32 between Headquarters Road and Uhlerstown Road in Tinicum is closed due to flooding.
  • Route 32 between Bridgeton Hill and Narrows Hill roads in Bridgeton is closed due to downed tree and utility wires.
  • Geigel Hill Road between Upper Tinicum Church and Permanent School roads in Tinicum is closed due to downed tree and utility wires.
  • Tohickon Hill Road between Point Pleasant Pike and State Park Road in Plumstead is closed due to bridge damage.

Chester County

  • Route 926 between Pocopson and Creek roads in Pocopson and Pennsbury is closed due to flooding.
  • Church Road/Pickering Dam Road between Pikeland and Charlestown raods in Charlestown is closed due to downed tree and utility wires.
  • Foster Road between Green Lane and Yellow Springs roads in Charlestown is closed due to drainage pipe and pavement damage.
  • Creek Road between Route 926 and Route 52, and between the Delaware County line and Brintons Bridge Road in Birmingham is closed due to flooding.

PennDOT advised drivers to use extreme care when driving during heavy rainstorms and reminds drivers they can log on to 511PA.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions on major highways before heading out.
