PennDOT Resurfacing Airy Street Through Sandy Street This Week
The construction is part of a $9.5 million project to repair and resurface 37 miles of highway in Montgomery County.

According to a release issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), construction is now underway on a $9.5 million project to resurface 37 miles of state highway in Montgomery County. The project is scheduled to be completed in October 2012.
Crews will be working through Thursday, July 21, to mill Airy Street up through Sandy Street in Norristown and into Plymouth from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. every day. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling on Airy and Sandy streets during the overnight operation.

- Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike) between Route 202 (DeKalb Pike)/Upper State Road and English Village in Montgomery
- Route 152 (Limeklin Pike) between North Hills Avenue and Tennis Avenue in Upper Dublin, Abington and Horsham
- Route 232 (Huntingdon Pike) between Philmont Avenue/Welsh Road and County Line Road in Lower Moreland and Bryn Athyn
- Route 232 (Huntingdon Pike) jug handles between Welsh Road and Moreland Road in Abington and Lower Moreland
- Fitzwatertown Road between Route 611 (Easton Road) and Route 263 (York Road) in Upper Moreland
- Railroad Avenue between the Delaware County line and Route 30 (Lancaster Avenue) in Lower Moreland
- Ardmore Avenue between County Line Road and Route 30 (Lancaster Avenue) in Lower Moreland
- Wynnewood Road between County Line Road and Route 30 (Lancaster Avenue) in Lower Moreland Township
- Route 63 (Welsh Road) between Lansdale Avenue and Route 202 (DeKalb Pike) in Lansdale, Upper Gwynedd and Montgomery
- Norristown Road/Township Line Road between Butler Pike and Route 363 (Valley Forge Road) in Whitpain and Worcester
- Fayette Street/Matsonford Road between Route 23 (Front Street) and North Lane in West Conshohocken, Conshohocken and Plymouth
- Route 263 (Old York Road) between Route 611 (Easton Road) and the Hatboro Borough line in Upper Moreland
- Route 202 (Bethlehem Pike) between Upper State Road and Route 463 in Montgomery
- Route 363 (Valley Forge Road) between Sumneytown Pike and Allentown Road in Upper Gwynedd
- Route 23 (Front Street) between Balligomingo Road and Crawford Avenue in West Conshohocken
- Route 73 (Church Road) between Rices Mill Road and Greenwood Avenue in Cheltenham
In addition, new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant curb ramps will be built along the following state roads:
- Airy Street/Sandy Street between Fairfield Road and Stanbridge Street in Norristown
- Township Line Road/Norristown Road between Pennlyn Blue Bell Pike and Route 363 (Valley Forge Road) in Plymouth, Whitpain, East Norriton and Worcester
- Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike) at the English Village Shopping Center in Horsham
- Route 152 (Limeklin Pike) between Norristown Road and North Hills Road in Upper Dublin and Abington
- Route 232 (Huntingdon Pike) between Route 63 (Welsh Road) and County Line Road in Lower Moreland, Upper Southampton and Bryn Athyn
- Route 232 (Huntingdon Pike) Jug Handles between Route 63 (Welsh Road) and Moreland Road in Lower Moreland
- Fitzwatertown Road at Route 611 (Easton Road) in Upper Moreland
- Railroad Avenue between Haverford School and Route 30 (Lancaster Avenue) in Lower Moreland
- Ardmore Avenue between Spring Avenue and Route 30 (Lancaster Avenue) in Lower Merion
- Wynnewood Road between Route 30 (Lancaster Avenue) and County Line Road in Lower Merion
- Route 63 (Welsh Road/Main Street) between Bell Run Boulevard and Lansdale Avenue in Montgomery, Upper Gwynedd and Lansdale
- Fayette Street/Matsonford Road between Elm Street and North Lane in Conshohocken and Plymouth
- Route 263 (Old York Road) between Route 611 (Easton Road) and Newington Drive in Upper Moreland and Hatboro
- Route 202 (Bethlehem Pike) between North Wales Road and Upper State Road in Montgomery
- Route 363 (Valley Forge Road) at Allentown Road in Towamencin
- Route 23 (Front Street) between William Street and Crawford Avenue in West Conshohocken
- Route 73 (Church Road) at Rices Mill Road in Cheltenham
Allan A. Myers, LP, of Worcester, is the general contractor on the $9,508,028 project that is financed entirely with state funds.
