According to Norristown police and county detectives:

Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Chain Street at 4 p.m. Feb. 27 after Miller called 911 to report that he had been shot in the back, and that his brother had been shot multiple times.

Both were found in an alley behind the residence.

They were taken to Paoli Hospital, Chester County. Thompson was pronounced dead, and Miller was treated for a gunshot wound to the back.

Police recovered eight 9mm fired Luger-brand cartridge casings in the rear yard.

An investigation disclosed that Thompson arrived at the residence to speak with Niearah Avery, the mother of his 7-year-old daughter. His brother, Miller, waited in the car.

Avery, who was pregnant with Henderson's child, and was in the apartment Henderson, when Thompson arrived.

Miller told police he waited in the car, where he could see his brother talking with Avery, Henderson and a female friend of Avery.

As Henderson began walking back toward the car, witnesses said multiple shots were fired, killing Thompson and striking Miller as he was attempting to exit the parked car.

Henderson fled from the scene on foot.

Police said Avery legally owns a 9mm handgun, which Henderson has “handled” in the past.

Avery told detectives that she keeps the gun in her bedroom, but it was not recovered when detectives executed a search warrant.
