Strawberry Alley Getting a Facelift

Covanta Plymouth Renewable Energy is helping the Norristown Shade Tree Commission and Montgomery County to cleanup and beautify Strawberry Alley.

The block-long pedestrian pathway commonly known as Strawberry Alley connecting the Norristown Transportation Center on LaFayette Street to the plaza on Main Street is getting a facelift. The pathway is heavily used by visitors to Norristown and county employees but despite its use, the alley has a history of neglect and is commonly littered with trash and defaced with graffiti.

As part of Montgomery County’s  and Norristown’s ongoing efforts to clean up the alley, the Norristown Shade Tree Commission and Covanta Plymouth Renewable Energy are planning a tree planting and beautification project for Friday, Oct. 7.

Look for crews to start cleaning up the walkway as early as 9am and be sure to thank the workers and volunteers for their efforts.
