Suspect Arrested in Tuesday Shooting

Stephen Jefferson, 21, was charged with two counts each of aggravated assault, simple assault and other related charges.

reports police have arrested a man in connection with the at East Oak Street and High Alley shortly before 11 a.m. this morning.

Twenty one-year-old Stephen Jefferson, of the 200 block of East Oak Street, was captured on the roof of a neighbor's home shortly after the shooting and charged with two counts each of aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and firearm offenses. Police have yet to find the gun used in the shooting.

Details of the events leading up to the shooting are still sketchy, but witnesses on the scene told Norristown Patch that the incident resulted from a fight between two women, then eventually escalated to involve two men, one of whom had a gun.

The unidentified victim was flown to a Philadelphia hospital and reportedly treated for a gunshot wound to the leg.
