Two homes gutted in Norristown blaze Thursday

No injuries were reported in the 4:45 p.m. blaze in the 300 block of West Wood Street, family members of the home owners said Friday.

NORRISTOWN —Restoration crews on Friday boarded up two homes in the 300 block of West Wood Street that were gutted in a two-alarm fire Thursday afternoon.

No one was injured and the home owners are staying with relatives and friends in the area, according to family members who were at the scene Friday.

A crew with East Coast Restoration Services , Philadelphia, were boarding up the two-story brick homes.

The fire broke out at 4:45 p.m. and was extinguished in one hour.

A damage estimate and the cause of the fire were not yet available

Norristown, East Norriton and Upper Merion fire companies assisted.
