UPDATE: Police Searching for Mother of Abandoned Boy
Norristown police are searching for Chrissie Williams, of Philadelphia, the mother of the child found earlier today.

The is searching the mother of a young child left unattended in the parking lot of on the 1100 block of Powell Street today, but have yet to locate the woman.
The police are trying to determine the whereabouts of the child’s mother –Chrissie Williams, of Philadelphia.
"We don’t know if the mother abandoned the baby, or maybe it was a babysitter, Norristown Police Chief Russell Bono told The Times Herald. "No one has contacted us, saying, 'my baby is missing.' And we believe she is the mother but we can’t find her."

According to police, the eight month old black male was found on the 000 Block of East Spruce Street in at approximately 8:25 a.m. The baby was found in a stroller with a blue and red duffle bag near by, which contained several baby items.

The has reportedly identified the mother of a young child left unattended in the parking lot of on the 1100 block of Powell Street today, but have yet to locate the woman.
Staff at Central reportedly saw an unattended stroller on a patch of grass adjacent to their parking lot sometime around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 14, and brought the small child, a boy, into the office just as this morning's rain started. Staff members reportedly checked with patients and visitors in the building looking for information on the child and notified authorities.
Police arrived on the scene and notified Montgomery County Office of Children & Youth, who took the child into custody. Montgomery County Communications Director Frank Custer told Norristown Patch that OCY took the boy, believed to be between six-months and one-year old, to the county health department for a check up.
He was in good condition," said Custer. "His hair was well trimmed and he had no diaper rash. He looked healthy."
OCY took the child to the Montgomery County Health Department for a check up where he was said to have a slight fever, but no serious injuries or maladies. The child is being transfered to a foster home in Chester County until such time as a parent or guardian can be located.
"The home that they are taking him to is the home of a woman who is very experienced in taking care of small children," said Custer. "He'll be re-evaluated by a doctor down there."
Police reportedly canvassed the neighborhood this morning, searching for a parent or guardian of the child and Norristown Police Chief Russell Bono said a duffel bag found near where the child was discovered led police to the identity of the child's mother, but she has not yet been located.
"We still have no idea where she's at," said Chief Bono.
