Despite Mother Nature's best attempts, the parents and volunteers of the Audubon Recreation Association (ARA) came together to make its opening day a success.
While the day's ceremonies, including a parade and first pitch, were called off due to poor field conditions, the organization was able to prepare the complex for Saturday's games.
Players in softball, baseball and tee-ball took to the fields at Audubon and Pawlings roads in Audubon and were welcomed with a bit of fresh air and sunshine. The weather and teamwork made for an outstanding opening day.
