UPDATE: West Norriton Fugitive in Custody; Charged with Aggravated Assault and Related Offenses
Christopher Stegall, who was wanted in connection with the hit-and-run assault of a police officer in the Olney section of the city, has reportedly surrendered to Philadelphia police.
UPDATE: Philadelphia Police told The Times Herald that Christopher Stegall turned himself at 5:30 p.m. yesterday at a North Broad Street police station. A spokesperson told the Herald that Stegall will be charged with "aggravated assault and related offenses." West Norriton Deputy Police Chief Dale Mabry told the Herald that additional charges in Philadelphia could include simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, fleeing police and possession of an instrument of crime.

According to both 6ABC Action News and CBS3, Christopher Stegall, the 27-year-old West Norriton man who authorities have been searching for since Tuesday night, surrendered to Philadelphia police Thursday evening.
Stegall was being sought in connection with a hit-and-run assault of a Philadelphia police officer in the Olney section of Philadelphia on Tuesday night. The officer conducted a traffic stop on a 2011 black Ford F150 being driven by Stegall shortly before 8 p.m. in the area of 3rd and Olney, and after his driver's license and registration, asked Stagell to step out of the vehicle.

"The individual started acting very suspiciously, making a lot of furtive moves inside the vehicle, so the officers, for their self-protection, asked the suspect to step out of the vehicle," Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small told Action News.
Stegall reportedly refused and sped off, dragging the officer with him for at least a block. The 26-year-old officer was reportedly taken to Einstein Medical Center for multiple injuries to his face, head and body and given a cast for a broken ankle.
Authorities found Stegall's truck in a nearby alley and recovered a gun from nearby, but it is unclear if the gun was Stegall's.
Philadelphia authorities had the Stegall's identification and notified the West Norriton Police Department our area, effecting the manhunt that began approximately an hour later.
Police have not outlined the charges Stegall will face.
