Whitehall Road Reopened Early
Work on the bridge is complete but work on the turn lanes at Germantown Pike and Whitehall Road is ongoing.
The Times Herald reported this morning that Whitehall Road is reopened to traffic after crews completed work on the bridge over Stony Creek in East Norriton ahead of schedule.
Work to repair the two-span, pipe arch and PennDOT had estimated the job would be finished in late August. The bridge carries over 5,000 vehicles a day.
According to the Herald, that section of Stony Creek was renamed "Kepner Creek" in honor Carol Kepner, a Norristown State Hospital nurse who was killed at the hospital in 1999.
