The wide-ranging feature highlights how North East graduates and other Erie County women have earned state titles, college scholarships, and even professional and Olympic opportunities, underscoring the region’s deep athletic talent. 
• Mellon Heritage Veterans' Outreach Campus floods after sprinkler freezes, bursts (yourerie.com) — Flooding at the Mellon Heritage Veterans' Outreach Campus brought both North East fire departments rushing in after a frozen sprinkler burst, causing about $50,000 in damage. The building is temporarily unusable, but leaders expect drying and repairs to move quickly and are urging community members to volunteer and donate so services for local veterans and first responders can continue with minimal disruption.
