NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department reported several crimes that occurred in the area between Monday, April 4, and Sunday.

Monday, April 4

  • A report of a simple assault was investigated by police. A subject was later taken into custody, where he was processed and arraigned.

Tuesday, April 5

  • Police responded to a business off Commerce Drive for a report of a theft from a vehicle. The complainant reported that an unknown person cut two catalytic convertors off a Chevrolet truck parked at the business. Detectives are following up on this investigation.
  • A report of a two-vehicle accident was made from a business off 2nd Street Pike; one driver turned in front of another driver, causing an accident. There were no reported injuries and neither vehicle required a tow.
  • Police responded to Swan Lane for a report of a theft. The complainant reported an unknown person stealing copper from two homes under construction. The total amounted to approximately $2,500. Detectives are following up on the investigation.
  • A report of a two-vehicle accident was made from Middle Holland Road at Old Jordan Road; one driver attempted to overtake another on the right-hand side of the road, causing a collision. Both vehicles required a tow. The operator of the struck vehicle sustained minor injuries but refused transport.

Wednesday, April 6

  • A traffic violation on Buck Road at Rocksville Road led to a driver being arrested on an active warrant out of Philadelphia. The driver was taken into custody and transported to Bucks County Prison.

Thursday, April 7

  • Police responded to Almshouse Road at Temperance Lane for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident; one driver attempted to make a left turn in front of another driver and caused a collision. The struck driver sustained minor injuries and their car required a tow.
  • A chimney fire was reported from a home on Highspire Road. The Northampton Fire Department arrived on the scene.

Friday, April 8

  • Police responded to 2nd Street Pike at Almshouse Road for a report of a three-vehicle traffic accident; one driver turned left in front of another driver and caused a collision. The struck driver then struck another driver. There were no reported injuries and none of the vehicles required a tow.
  • Police responded to Buck Road at Middle Holland Road for a report of a three-vehicle traffic accident; one driver rear-ended another driver, which caused the struck driver to strike another vehicle.

Saturday, April 9

  • Police conducted a traffic stop on East Bristol Road at Churchville Lane for a traffic violation. After further investigation, it was learned that the driver had an active warrant out of Bensalem. They were taken into custody and transported to Bensalem.

Sunday, April 10

  • Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of 2nd Street Pike at Almshouse Road for a traffic violation. After further investigation, the driver was taken into custody for DUI.
  • Police responded to Crossroads Plaza for a report of a hit-and-run accident; one driver struck another driver and then left the area. The struck driver was able to provide police with the registration of the striking vehicle. Based on this, police were able to find the driver and then cited them accordingly.
  • Police responded to 2nd Street Pike at Almshouse Road for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident; one driver turned left in front of another driver and caused a collision. Both operators sustained minor injuries but refused transport. Both vehicles required a tow.
