3 In Bucks Co. Make Philly Mag's '40 Best' High Schools List

Three Bucks County high schools made Philly Mag's list of the "40 Best" in the region.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — A new ranking from Philadelphia Magazine analyzes the best high schools in and around Philadelphia. Three in Bucks County made the list.

Central Bucks East, Council Rock North, and New Hope-Solebury made the magazine's "40 Best Public High Schools in Philadelphia and the Suburbs" list.

The ranking was created after analysis of public data from Pennsylvania and New Jersey departments of education, and the National Center for Education Statistics, according to the magazine. Factors taken into account when preparing the list include graduation rates, student to teacher ratio, and SAT scores.

"These schools make up the top fifth of our separate rankings of Philadelphia district and charter schools (81 total) and suburban public schools in the Greater Philadelphia region (127 total)," the magazine said.

According to the magazine, Central Bucks East has 1,554 students with a 98 percent graduation rate and a 94 percent college attendance rate.

Council Rock North has 1,647 students with a 96 percent graduation rate and a 90 percent college attendance rate.

New Hope-Solebury has 509 students with a 90 percent graduation rate and a 96 percent college attendance rate.
