​​​​Bucks HRC Offers Strategies For Guiding Peaceful Conversations

The free program will explore ways to have beneficial dialogues between family, friends, supervisors, colleagues and community residents.

NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Bucks County Human Relations Council presents a free event, "An Invitation to the Community: Strategies for Guiding Peaceful Conversations," on Wednesday, Sept. 25 beginning at 6 p.m . at the Free Library of Northampton Township.

The free program will explore ways to have beneficial dialogues between family members, friends, supervisors, colleagues and community residents. It will also help with those Thanksgiving table dialogues.

The three speakers providing expertise include Barbara J. Simmons, a foremost conflict resolution specialist in Bucks County; Dr. Sergio Sauchuk, crisis counselor and pastor of Grace the Ukrainian Baptist Church in Warminster; and Danny L. Thomas, executive director and educator at The Peace Center in Langhorne.

“When you think about it, almost everyone can appreciate having new ways to bridge gaps in conversations,” says Joyce Hadley, chairperson of the BCHRC. “One key is to have that greater sensitivity to what the other person is feeling."
