These incidents and more were reported in Northampton Township. Read all about them below.

NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department reported several crimes that occurred in the area between May 9 and Sunday.

May 9

  • Police responded to Elsa Way for a report of solicitors claiming to be working for PECO. Arriving officers were approached by two contractors who indicated they were sub-contractors for PECO and were repairing/replacing meters. Police were able to confirm this information and reported the same to the original complainant.

May 10

  • Police responded to 2nd Street Pike for a report of a two-vehicle accident; one driver was stopped at a red traffic signal when they were struck in the rear by another driver. The striking driver required a tow from the scene and no injuries were reported.
  • A report of a theft from a vehicle was made from Edwards Drive. The complainant reported that a large amount of cash, a garage door opener, and a check was stolen from his unlocked vehicle.
  • Police responded to Pulinski Road for a report of an assault. Officers were met with an unknown subject exiting the garage at a high rate of speed over the front lawn. They then met the complainant who stated they had received several injuries from the subject. The fleeing vehicle crashed and the subject was placed under arrest. The defendant was later arraigned and sent to Bucks County Prison.
  • A report of a burglary was made from Churchville Lane. The complainant stated that they arrived home and found their front door forced open and the deadbolt ripped out. Police searched the house and found no one, but found the bedrooms had been ransacked.

May 11

  • Police responded to Northampton Township Library for a one-vehicle traffic accident; the driver suffered a medical emergency while driving, went over the curb, struck a bench, and hit a tree before stopping. The car was towed from the scene and the driver was transported to St. Mary Medical Center.
  • A report of a scam was made from Michael Road. Police spoke with the complainant who indicated he had received an email, which appeared to be a spoof email of a legitimate business’ asking for gift cards.

Thursday

  • Police responded to Pine Avenue for a report of an unattended hit and run accident. The complainant indicated that their vehicle had been parked in front of their residence and had been damaged.
  • A report of a missing dog was made from Nancy Drive. The complainant said that they had found a dog, but did not know its owner. Police were able to locate the owner of the dog by canvassing the neighborhood.

Friday

  • Police responded to a parking lot on Second Street Pike for a report of an accident involving a car and a pedestrian. The complainant, who was later taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center, indicated that a driver ran over their foot while they were trying to park. It was determined that the driver was impaired and placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.
  • A report of stolen catalytic converters was made from a business in the Ivyland Industrial Park. Police met with the complainant who stated two of the business’s vehicles had had their catalytic converters stolen overnight.
  • Police responded to Jacksonville and West Bristol Roads for a report of a two-vehicle accident; one driver was stopped for a red traffic signal when another driver failed to stop and struck them. Minor damage was reported, but neither vehicle required a two, and no injuries were reported.

Saturday

  • Police responded to Tanyard and North Friesland Road for a two-vehicle accident; one driver was traveling on Tanyard Road when another driver, who was traveling on North Friesland Road, failed to stop for the stop sign and turned onto Tanyard Road in front of them. The striking driver's car was towed from the scene and no injuries were reported.
  • A report of burning trash was made from Carmelita Drive. The complainant reported a neighbor burning their trash. Police spoke with the neighbor and advised local ordinance prohibited burning in a burn barrel. The fire was extinguished without incident.

Sunday

  • Police responded to the Second Street Pike in a parking lot for a report of an accident; one driver struck another driver while attempting to park. Minor damage was reported, but neither vehicle required a tow, and no injuries were reported.
