Council Rock South Wins State At Band Competition
The band won all captions in the competition, including Music, Visual, Colorguard, Percussion and Overall Effect

NORTHAMPTON, PA — Council Rock High School South's marching band brought home a state championship on Saturday.
The band won first place at the 2018 U.S. Bands Group IV-A Pennsylvania State Championships. With an overall score of 89.875, the band won all captions in the competition, including Music, Visual, Colorguard, Percussion and Overall Effect.
The win marks South's second state title and came on a day when band members turned around and performed again at Neshaminy High School. South earned a rating of Outstanding, with awards for Best Colorguard, Best Percussion and Best Visual.

The marching band's 2018 production, "Into the Light, features instrumental solos by Byron Friend, Mae Dumont and Hadley Ellison and dance solos by Calista Pushman and Kiley Malloy.
The Council Rock High School South Marching Band will finish out their 2018 competition season at national championships on Sunday, Nov. 4 in Allentown.
