Driver Taken Into Custody On Arrest Warrant: Northampton Crime Report

Police investigated the theft of a package, a fraud complaint and spoke to parents about the laws governing dirt bikes.

NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Police reported the following incidents between March 17 and March 23:

March 17

  • Warrant Arrest - Patrol responded to the area of Jacksonville Road for a traffic accident. While investigating the crash, a driver gave false information about their identity. Through investigation, it was found that the driver had an active warrant for their arrest, and they were subsequently taken into custody.

  • Dog Complaint - Patrol responded to the area of Fairhill Drive for a loose dog. Once on location, the owner was on scene and the dog was reunited.

March 19

  • Theft - Patrol responded to Longview Drive for a theft of package. A resident reported that a package was delivered and after a few minutes, was taken from their front door. Information was gathered and this case in assigned to detectives.

  • Dirt Bikes - Patrol observed several individuals riding mini dirt bikes in the area of Middle Holland Road. Contact was made with the drivers and their parents were contacted. They were educated about the traffic laws regarding dirt bikes.
  • Community Relations - A officer spoke at a local community center and presented information on frauds and how people can protect themselves.

March 21

  • Vehicle Lockout - Patrol responded to the 1600blk of 2nd Street Pike for a vehicle lockout. Once on location, contact was made with the complainant. Using lockout tools, patrol was able to gain entry.

March 22

  • Fraud - A resident stopped at police headquarters to report that they had purchased a used vehicle online through a website. They were in contact with the company and had sent payment but never received the vehicle. Information was gathered and this case is assigned to Detectives.

March 23

  • Alarm - Patrol responded to the 200 block of Holland Road for a hold up alarm. Once on location, it was found that the alarm was accidental and there were no problems.

During this tour, patrol handled 17 alarm calls; 13 abandoned 911 calls; 37 medical emergencies; 11 bookings; 5 domestic disputes; 9 civil disputes; 76 traffic monitoring details and 27 crime prevention details.
