Drug Arrest, Paint Spilled On Roadway: Northampton Crime Report

The Northampton Township Police Department reported the following incidents between May 19 and May 25.

NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department reported the following incidents between May 19 and May 25:

May 19

  • Wires - Patrol responded to the area of Middle Holland Road and Buck Road for the report of downed wires. Once on location, wires were located, and PECO was contacted to address the issue.

  • Traffic Stop (Drug Arrest) - Patrol initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at 2nd Street Pike and Bustleton Pike for an equipment violation. During an investigation, drugs and drug paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle. The driver was subsequently taken into custody.

May 21

  • Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the intersection on Buck Road and Rocksville Road for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling westbound on Rocksville Road and had stopped for the stop sign at Buck Road. They then entered onto Buck Road and made contact with unit 2 which was traveling southbound on Buck Road. Unit 2 then made contact with unit 3 which was coming to a stop at the stop sign on Rocksville Road. Tow was required.

  • Road Hazard - Patrol responded to the area of Lower Holland Road for a road hazard. Complainant reports a large pothole on the roadway. Patrol located the hazard, and information was forwarded to have the pothole repaired.

May 23

  • Road Hazard - Patrol responded to the 800 block of Sackettsford Road for a road hazard. Complainant reports a downed tree in the area. Once on location, patrol located the downed tree, and the Northampton Township Public Works Department responded to remove it.

May 24

  • Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the 900 block of 2nd Street Pike for a traffic accident. Unit 2 was traveling northbound on 2nd Street Pike and was making right turn into a parking. While doing so, they were struck by unit 1 which was traveling the same direction on 2nd Street Pike. Tow was not required.

May 25

  • Road Hazard - Patrol responded to the area of Tanyard Road and 2nd Street Pike for the report of a road hazard. Complainant reports a pickup truck spilled a bucket of paint on the road. Once on location, patrol located the spilled paint and with the assistance of the fire department, the road surface was washed.

During this tour, patrol handled 11 alarm calls, 7 abandoned 911 calls, 40 medical emergencies, 14 bookings, 5 domestic disputes,14 civil disputes, 68 traffic monitoring details and 18 crime prevention details.
