DUI Arrest, EZ Pass Scam Lead Northampton Twp. Crime Report
Police also investigated several traffic accidents, responded to a solicitor complaint, and responded to a fireworks call.
NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department reported the following incidents between May 5 and May 11:
May 5
- Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the area of Buck Road and Chinquapin Road for a traffic accident. Unit 2 was stopped in northbound traffic when unit 1 struck them from behind. Tow was not required.

- Found Dog - Patrol responded to the area of Temperance Lane for the report of found dog. While enroute, the owner and dog were reunited.
- Solicitor Complaint - Patrol responded to the area of Karen Road for a solicitor complaint. Patrol checked the area and located an individual who was soliciting without a permit. They were told to stop until they obtained a permit.
May 7
- Scam - A resident contacted police regarding a scam text message that they received. The resident reported receiving a text message from EZPASS regarding unpaid tolls and knowing that it was a scam. They just wanted the police to be aware of the incident.
- Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the 800 block of Newtown-Richboro Road for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was turning onto Newtown-Richboro Road from a parking lot when it made contact with unit 2, which was traveling westbound on Newtown-Richboro Road. Tow was not required.
May 8

- Information - A resident stopped at police headquarters to report that they were receiving motor vehicle violations for a registration plate that they no longer owned. They added that they had sold a vehicle and left the plate on it. The registration plate was now being displayed on a different vehicle. Information was gathered and the resident said they would be following up with PENNDOT.
May 9
- Traffic Accident (Deer Involved) - Patrol responded to the area of Sackettsford Road and Spencer Road for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling on westbound on Sackettsford Road when a deer entered the roadway. As a result, contact was made. Tow was not required.
May 10
- Traffic Stop (DUI Arrest) - Patrol initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a motor vehicle violation on Township Road. Through investigation, the driver was taken into custody for the suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
May 11
- Fireworks - Patrol responded to the area of Arbor Road for the report of fireworks. In checking the area, there were no issues observed.
During this tour, patrol handled 10 alarm calls, 11 abandoned 911 calls, 29 medical emergencies, 10
bookings, five domestic disputes, 14 civil disputes, 81 traffic monitoring details and eight crime prevention details.
