Field Vandalized, Store Reports Rowdy Juveniles In Northampton Twp.
Police investigated numerous incidents in the township including a bank scam, DUI arrests and an assist to Upper Southampton on stolen wire.
NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department reported the following incidents between March 10 and March 16:
March 10
- Found Animal (Dog) — Complainant came into the police station with a dog that they had found in the area of Almshouse Road and Tanyard Road. Patrol was able to locate the owner, and the dog was returned home.
- Criminal Mischief — Patrol responded to the St. Leonards Ballfield for the report of criminal mischief. The property was damaged over the weekend by unknown actors. Information was gathered and the case is under investigation.
- Juvenile Complaint — Patrol responded to the 800 block of Bustleton Pike for the report of a juvenile complaint. A business reported a group of juveniles throwing objects inside the store and knocking over items. Once in the area, the juveniles involved were located and parents were contacted.

- Scam — A resident stopped at headquarters to report a scam. The resident told police that they were contacted by an individual who claimed to be a representative from the bank they use and said there was an issue with their bank account and transferred them to someone who identified themselves as being with the police. This person Facetimed the complainant and began to ask personal information. The complainant realized it was a scam and terminated the line. Information was gathered.
March 12
- Traffic Accident — Patrol responded to the 400 block of Hatboro Road for a traffic accident. Unit 2 was traveling on Almshouse Road when they began to slow down for a red traffic signal. While slowing down, they were struck from behind by unit 1. Tow was not required.
- Traffic Accident (DUI Arrest) — Patrol responded to the area of Woodlake Drive for a hit-and-run traffic accident. Once on location, a vehicle was involved with striking an unoccupied vehicle and leaving the scene. Patrol checked and located the vehicle and driver involved. Through investigation, the driver was taken into custody for the suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
March 13

- Assist Other PD — Patrol responded and assisted Upper Southampton Township Police Department with two subjects who were stealing wire from utility poles. The two individuals were taken into custody.
March 14
- Suspicious Vehicle — At 1:44 a.m., patrol observed an occupied vehicle in a parking lot in the 200 block of Hatboro Road. Contact was made with the occupants who were advised of the park hours. Everything checked out okay with the occupants and they left the area.
March 15
- Traffic Stop (Arrest Made) — Patrol initiated a traffic stop in the area of 2nd Street Pike. Contact was made with the driver who gave false information. The driver was found to have an active warrant and was subsequently taken into custody. The driver was also in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
March 16
- Fire — Patrol responded to the 900 block of 2nd Street Pike for the report of a fire. Once on location, the Northampton Township Fire Department arrived on scene and the fire was extinguished.
During this tour, patrol handled 16 alarm calls; 7 abandoned 911 calls; 35 medical emergencies; 11 bookings; 5 domestic disputes; 4 civil disputes; 70 traffic monitoring details and 6 crime prevention details.
