Free Narcan: Bucks Co. To Host Drive-Thru Events In August
In the last 12 months, 779 opioid overdoses were reported in Bucks County. A public equipped with emergency treatment kits can help.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Bucks County Drug & Alcohol Commission is encouraging residents to “Save A Life: Get Narcan” in August.
Three drive-thru events at the start of the month will provide Bucks residents with the life-saving nasal spray free of charge.
NARCAN® (Naloxone HCl) Nasal Spray is the first FDA-approved nasal form of naloxone, used for emergency treatment of a known or suspected opioid overdose. In the past year, Bucks County reported 779 opioid overdoses, with those in their 20s and 30s especially affected.

The drive-thru kits will include two doses of Narcan, a mouth shield, gloves, and written resources. Cars are limited to one kit each, while supplies last. The events will take place at the following locations and times:
Fairless Hills
Tuesday, Aug. 3 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church
325 S Oxford Valley Road

Holland
Wednesday, Aug. 4 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church

Perkasie

St. Peter’s Tohickon United Church of Christ
1071 Old Bethlehem Road
There are several other options for access to Narcan in Pennsylvania, too. Anyone in the state can sign up online and have Narcan delivered directly to their homes using Prevention Point Pittsburgh’s mail-based service system. Further, through PA Act 139, Pennsylvania residents can access Narcan through their local pharmacy.
