NEWTOWN, PA — Council Rock High School North will be rocking, rolling, and swinging on Saturday, March 9 when its sister school, Council Rock High School South hosts “Jazz at the Rock” at the Newtown Township school.

Nine bands will be featured at the Cavalcade of Bands jazz festival set for a 6 p.m. start. Throughout the evening judges will be evaluating eight of the bands based on a variety of musical standards. The Council Rock South Jazz Band will be performing in exhibition as the host.

"This festival is an opportunity for students to show off the result of months of hard work," said South's jazz band director Keith Chasin. "This is an exhibition of the time, determination, and skill that goes into making school ensembles sound incredible. We are proud as a school to be
able to participate and host a festival like this celebrating the musical talents and efforts of students from across Southeastern Pennsylvania."
