NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department reported several crimes that occurred in the area from Monday, Feb. 28 to Sunday, March 6.

Monday, Feb. 28

- A subject was being processed when it was discovered that they were wanted out of Montgomery County on separate charges. They were released to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department.
- Police responded to the 900 block of 2nd St. Pike for a report of a single-vehicle traffic accident; the driver of a tractor-trailer crashed into a light pole with the trailer while making a left turn.
Tuesday, March 1
- Police responded to Almshouse Road at Winding Way for a report of a two-vehicle accident; one driver rear-ended another. The first driver required a tow.
Wednesday, March 2

- Police responded to a residence for a report of a simple assault. A warrant was issued for his arrest after it was discovered the subject had left.
- A report of fraud was made on West Windrose Road. The complainant reports paying his PECO bill with a check that he placed in the Richboro Post Office box. He was later contacted by the bank that a $5,000 in his name had bounced. The issue is being investigated.
- Police responded to Almshouse Road at Jacksonville Road for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident; one driver rear-ended another. The struck driver had minor injuries.
Thursday, March 3
- A two-vehicle traffic accident was reported on 2nd St. Pike; a driver accidentally struck a parked vehicle. There were no reported injuries and neither vehicle required a tow.
- Police responded to Newtown Richboro Road at Chestnut Drive for a report of a two-vehicle traffic accident; a driver attempted to turn in front of another driver, causing a collision.
- Police responded to Sienna Circle for a report of attempted theft of a vehicle. The homeowner's dog alerted her to a man inside her car. The subject exited the complainant’s vehicle and fled toward Jacksonville Road. The incident is still being investigated.
Friday, March 4
- Police responded to a residence for a report of fraud. The complainant reports writing a check for his daughter’s lacrosse team and placing it in the mailbox. A few days later, the team stated they never received the check. The complainant checked his bank info and noticed the check was altered. The amount was changed to over $9,000 and the “pay to” name was also changed. The incident is being investigated.
Saturday, March 5
- Police responded to Bustleton Pike at Knowles Avenue for a report of a two-vehicle accident; one driver struck another driver as they were turning left. There were no reported injuries but both vehicles required a tow.
Sunday, March 6
- Police responded to Nelson Drive for a report of a theft from a vehicle. The complainant reports that an unknown subject stole the catalytic converter from his motor vehicle.
- Police responded to Newtown Richboro Road at #1 Lane Trail for a report of a single-vehicle traffic accident; a driver struck a deer in the roadway. There were no reported injuries and the vehicle did not require a tow.
- Police responded to the 1300 block of Bridgetown Pike for a report of a single-vehicle accident; a driver struck a deer in the roadway. There were no reported injuries and the vehicle did not require a tow.
