RICHBORO, PA — The 27th Annual Northampton Day Festival unfolds on Sunday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the grounds of the former Richboro Middle School at 98 Upper Holland Road across the street from the Northampton Library and the Northampton Senior Center.

"We hope to see you on Sunday, Sept. 14 for this fantastic community event," said Jenny Esposito, who detailed the day's events and activities at the August meeting of the Northampton Township Board of Supervisors.

The event kicks off with a flag raising ceremony at 10 a.m. and continues throughout the day with more than 110 vendors spread out over the parking lot of the school, along with a mouthwatering array of food trucks.

The day will also include appearances by the Northampton Indians Cheer Squad, the Barn Nature Center with live animals, the Northampton Police K9 Unit, and the Northampton Township Fire Department.

Also planned is a choral performance by a township elementary school, an appearance by a magical unicorn courtesy of Our Play Farm, and the return of Belgian horse hayrides.

Giant Pharmacy will also be on hand offering free COVID and flu shots between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Bring your Medicare, pharmacy, and medical insurance cards.

Also free of charge will be lots of inflatables for the kids to enjoy, including a pirate ship and a rock wall bungee jump.

"Our raffle table brings in much excitement each year," adds Esposito. "A few examples of what we have to offer this year includes a Sequon Barkley signed helmet, a Kyle Schworber signed baseball, a big screen TV, and much more."

According to Esposito, the event is organized by the nonprofit Northampton Day committee with the goal of furthering community spirit and to provide a showcase for local talent, highlight small business, and offer free family entertainment.

"There's a second very important aspect of our organization - our philanthropic arm," said Esposito. "Each year we provide two scholarships to graduating high school seniors who have volunteered at a Northampton Township Parks and Recreation event. In addition, last year we also donate $500 to each PTO of every Council Rock elementary and middle school in the township. We also donated $15,000 to local nonprofits such as the Council Rock Coalition for Healthy Youth and Autism Cares."

Handicapped parking will be available at the Northampton Township Senior Center.
