Northampton School Board Member Stepping Down, Seat Open
Jerold Grupp, who has served on the board since 2000, is moving out of the district. Applications are now open to fill the seat.

NORTHAMPTON, PA — Northampton's representative on the Council Rock School Board is stepping down after 19 years and the district is now seeking his replacement.
Jerold Grupp, the board's longest-serving member, submitted his resignation at the board of directors meeting on Dec. 20 because he is moving out of the district. His resignation becomes effective on Jan. 6.
Grupp was appointed to the board in 2000 after serving on other committees and task forces for the district. His tenure has seen issues for the district including school closures, redistricting and curriculum changes as well as decisions about school safety, which was the subject of one of his early task forces.

Applications are now being accepted to fill the vacancy.
To be considered, the following must apply for candidates:

- The candidate must be an elector of Council Rock School District Region No. 5 and be eligible pursuant to Sections 3-322 and 3-323 of Public School Code 1949, as amended
- The candidate must submit a letter of interest by US mail, personal delivery or email to, Dr. Robert Fraser, Council Rock Superintendent of Schools, The Chancellor Center, 30 North Chancellor Street, Newtown PA 18940 or at rfraser@crsd.org.
Letters of interest and any supporting documentation submitted may be distributed to the public and should not include information the applicant considers confidential. Letters of interest must be received by Fraser by Jan. 24, 2019.
The Board will review candidate applications with the intent of interviewing candidates and appointing a new board member at a Special Board Meeting to occur on January 31, 2019.
