Reckless Driver Arrested For Suspected DUI In Northampton Township
Police also investigated an incident of fraud and responded to several traffic accidents, including one involving a deer.
RICHBORO, PA — The Northampton Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between Jan. 6 and Jan. 12:
January 6
- Traffic Accident - Patrol responded to the area of Bellwood Drive for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was driving on Bellwood Drive in snowy conditions when it slid and struck an object. Tow was required.

- Fraud - A resident reported that an unknown person used their information to open up an account with a cell phone provider and purchase two cell phones. Information was gathered and this case was forwarded to detectives.
- DUI Arrest - Patrol responded to the area of Almshouse Road and Jacksonville Road for the report of a reckless driver. Once on location, patrol checked and located the vehicle. Contact was made with the driver and through investigation, the driver was taken into custody for suspicion of driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
January 8
- Suspicious Vehicle - At 1:37 a.m., patrol observed an occupied vehicle parked behind a business in the 900 block of 2nd Street Pike. Contact was made with both individuals who were identified. The incident was investigated and everything appeared okay.
January 9

- Road Hazard - Patrol responded to the area of West Bristol Road and Cherry Blossom Drive for the report of a road hazard. The caller reported a tree down in the roadway. Once on location, patrol located the hazard and it was moved off the roadway.
January 10
- Traffic Accident - Patrol located a traffic accident that occurred in the area of 2nd Street Pike and Almshouse Road. Unit 1 was traveling northbound on 2nd Street Pike and went to make a left turn onto Almshouse Road. While doing so, unit 1 made contact with unit 2 which was traveling southbound on 2nd Street Pike and was crossing over the intersection. Tow was not required.
January 11
- Down wires - Patrol responded to the area of Holland Road and Elm Avenue for the report of a wire’s complaint. Once on location, patrol located wires that were low. They were not causing an issue and Verizon was contacted to respond.
January 12
- Traffic Accident (Deer Involved) - Patrol responded to the area of Bustleton Pike and Schan Drive for a traffic accident. Unit 1 was traveling southbound on Bustleton Pike when a deer entered onto the roadway. As a result, contact was made. Tow was required.
