'Space Rocks' At This Year's Rock & Mineral Club Weekend In Bucks

Families and individuals will discover the Earth and beyond at this indoor (rain or shine) event at the Churchville Nature Center.

NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA — This weekend, the public is invited to experience rocks and minerals from out-of-this-world at the Churchville Nature Center in Northampton Township.

"Space Rocks! Rock & Mineral Expo" will be taking place on Saturday and Sunday, April 12 and 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bucks County-owned and operated nature center.

Throughout the weekend, rock, mineral, gem, and earth science lovers of all ages are invited to participate in demonstrations and activities, shop for unique items from local vendors and participate in different stations such as sluicing, cave exploration, gold panning, making an asteroid, creating a galaxy bracelet and other fun activities.

"Families and individuals will discover the Earth and beyond at this indoor (rain or shine) event, which is popular for its hands-on science activities," said event organizers.

Several collectors, artists and crafters will also be on hand to sell their geology-focused jewelry,
display pieces, rock and mineral samples, crystals and carvings.

“Churchville Nature Center becomes very busy, noisy and fun for the entire weekend that we
hold the Rock and Mineral Expo,” said Megan Keller, public events coordinator. “We always
offer several things for families and individuals to do and experience as they learn together.”

At the door admission is $6 per adult and free for kids. Some of the children’s activities will be
free while others will have a nominal fee to cover costs for materials and supplies. Pre-
registration is not required.
