State Senator Pays Special Visit To The Starboro Cafe In Richboro

RICHBORO, PA — State Sen. Frank Farry dropped in on Council Rock's Starboro Cafe recently to present the students and staff with a certificate of recognition from the Pennsylvania Senate.

The certificate reads, in part, “The Starboro Café, established in March 2021, has been instrumental in providing a comfortable and safe work setting for students while imparting them with social and pre-vocational skills that are essential for their future success."

The Café has also opened its doors to the community, "creating a welcoming and inclusive environment that fosters understanding and acceptance of individuals with special needs," the certificate continues.

Farry, who represents 6th Senatorial District, added his sincere gratitude and appreciation for the cafe's "contribution to the growth and development of young adults with special needs and for their outstanding service to the community.”

The cafe is part of the Council Rock A.C.H.I.E.V.E. transition program, an education program for young adults (18-21) with special needs. The program provides students with pre-vocational and vocational training, assessment, and experience to develop skills that are necessary for assimilation into adult life by including the community as the classroom.

ACHIEVE students flourish in the cafe's supportive environment and its efforts to build community are evident in each customer who stops by for a visit.

The STARBoro Café is open to the public and is located at 30 Upper Holland Road, Richboro.
