Trash Collection Schedules Changing In Northampton Township

With road paving and milling, Northampton Township officials said trash pickup will start earlier starting Sept. 21.

NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA —With the township's road paving project entering its third and fourth phases, residents may have to adjust to temporary changes in their trash collection.

The Northampton Township Police Department shared a memo from the township that due to start times for road improvements for the rest of the month, trash, recycling, and yard waste trucks may start earlier so the materials can be collected.

The third and fourth phases began Thursday.

Police said that start times for the trash trucks could be as early as 5 a.m. in some developments where milling and paving are expected to take place.

"Northampton Township appreciates your understanding and cooperation during this time and is under the realization that it could affect you for two days out of the week as they move to complete areas."

Township officials are reminding residents to put their trash out the night before after 6 p.m.

Roads are scheduled for milling and paving from now into September and will be broken into four phases, township officials said.

Phase 3 includes Seedling Drive, Joyce Kilmer Drive, and Tree Line Drive.

Phase 4 includes Spring Garden Mill Road, Woodstock Drive, and Verna Way.
