Sunday's "World Of Weather Weekend" Canceled At Churchville

The Churchville Nature Center has canceled Sunday's "World Of Weather" weekend event due to a predicted snowstorm.

UPDATE: The Sunday, Jan. 19 World of Weather Weekend Event at the Churchville Nature Center has been canceled due to the predicted snow storm.

NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, PA —Want to learn about the weather? Now you can for a whole weekend.

A World Of Weather Weekend will explore three of the nation's climate regions on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 18 and 19 at the Churchville Nature Center.

Families, adults, and children of all ages are invited to travel to Churchville to participate in the nature center’s hugely popular World of Weather Weekend. The indoor program will be held daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $6 per person at the door.

This year, the rooms of the nature center will be transformed into three special ecological
regions – the temperate rainforest of Olympic National Park, the tundra of Denali National Park, and the subtropical wetlands of the Everglades National Park.

Attendees will meander through the rooms and experience weather-themed demonstrations, interactive displays, games and crafts, and practice their weather forecasting skills in front of the nature center’s “green screen.”

“Our World of Weather Weekend is an annual winter tradition for many families and groups,” said
Megan Keller, public events and summer camp coordinator for Churchville Nature Center. “We use discovery and hands-on science to give families and youth memorable and lively opportunities to learn together about weather in other ecological regions.”

The Churchville Nature Center is an environmental education facility of the Bucks County Department of Parks and Recreation located on a 65-acre nature preserve adjacent to the Churchville Reservoir in Northampton Township.
