Owner Jerry Valliant told KDKA-TV: "We've been here for 55 years, so we have a lot of regular customers that come here all the time. They're like our family anymore, that's why they stand outside and wait for me to open the doors."

Open since 1968 (and originally called Valliant's Dairy), the building underwent a complete renovation in 1995 and reopened as a '50s-era diner complete with neon lights, gleaming stainless steel, turquoise and yellow booths and hot pink accents.

The diner's loyal customers have added to the decor by providing Valliant's with Marilyn Monroe
posters, vintage model cars, black-and-white photos from the '50s and assorted diner memorabilia.

Numerous commercials have been filmed at the diner, most notably the 2006 Disney Super Bowl commercial featuring Steelers’ quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. The diner has also been the setting for several scenes of an MTV short film and the 3D movie "My Bloody Valentine."
